Trusting Life’s Mystery (And, a gift for you)

May 8, 2024

I have news to share—

Recently, I returned from leading a retreat in Thailand and came home to the same familiar surroundings, responsibilities, and circumstances as before.

Nothing had changed and everything had changed.

As I sat with my morning practice, I felt an effortless release of control. It had been a long time coming. I was aware of my habitual way of being, my tendency when feeling uncertain to push through and try to force things to happen, keeping control by becoming attached to a particular outcome.

We all have the capacity to be in the present moment and to be with the not-knowing.

In those moments of stillness, playing between what we know and what we don’t know, creativity arises, and new ideas begin to emerge.

Last year, I had also been trying to find a way to mark my new decade. I was looking for an inspirational experience, out of my comfort zone and where I needed to use my body. As it turned out, it was a full-on, challenging year, there was no open window and nothing came to mind.

Then a few weeks ago, seemingly out of nowhere, but in reality from that place of stillness, I heard the call to walk the Camino de Santiago, an 800 km (500 mile) pilgrimage from France and across Spain.

As I reflect back over the years, my intention has been to create tranquil, soulful retreats for people to fully receive the deep level of inner peace and renewal that comes from slowing down and learning to trust what our body and mind needs to thrive. To support others in nourishing their inner life for outer change, It has been a privilege and a joy.

Now it is time to step into an adventure of my own as I make my path by walking.

As this will be my last post for a while, I offer you this gentle practice to ease your pelvis and lower back. Feel free to share as you like with family and friends.

May you be inspired to find moments of stillness to feel what is being called forward in your heart. You have so much potential that is yours to create.

I appreciate you being here.

Warmly,
Karen
