Unplug from the stresses of daily life and immerse yourself in a tranquil, soulful yoga retreat in the heart of rural Tuscany.
As we thoughtfully consider a new way of stepping back into the world, while craving for connection, inspiration and release, I invite you to lean in – absorb the sights, sounds, flavours and textures of the landscape, Italian culture and warm hospitality. We’ll dive deep into energizing and restorative yoga practices to reawaken and connect to a healthier, nourished self.
My intention is for you to find inspiration and beauty in a simpler way of being. Experiencing the fullness of life through the act of receiving so that you may leave the retreat feeling refreshed, expansive and whole.
Men, women, and all experience levels are welcome. Previous knowledge of yoga is recommended, although this retreat is designed to be accessible with individual modifications and variations offered as needed.

Ebbio is a 13th century farmhouse nestling among the rolling hills of Tuscany. Surrounded by fertile landscapes, beautiful forests and artistic heritage, you’ll sense a special ambience – an invitation to breathe, settle and arrive.
Lovingly restored, Ebbio has kept its original and authentic style featuring spacious,
uniquely furnished rooms reflecting its heritage. We’ll share leisurely meals under the shade of the pergolas, The delicious organic, plant based cuisine comes direct from the land and neighbouring farms.
The farm cultivates vineyards, orchards, olive groves, vegetables, fruit, medicinal plants and cares for cows, horses, donkeys, chickens, doves, geese, and dogs.
There are many wonderful ways to experience your time here. Relax under olive trees or in hammocks in the forest. Enjoy horseback riding, hiking, biking, foraging, massage, hot springs, cool water streams and so much more!

Karen Kurzmeyer
As a driven and over-worked business owner, I tried yoga to help relieve stress and regain strength and flexibility. I never looked back and sold my company to dedicate my career to inspiring others to prioritize their health, well-being and stress relief through yoga.
Since 2014 I have completed 1100+ hour yoga teachers training at Centered Yoga, Samahita in Thailand, am certified by Yoga Alliance RYT 500 and regularly attend continued professional development in philosophy, anatomy, movement including alignment and somatic practices, pranayama (breath work) and meditation. I specialize in teaching private clients as well as offer coaching, holistic immersion programmes and lead retreats.
In 2020, I became a certified Integral Facilitator through Ten Directions Integral Facilitation Program led by Diane Musho Hamilton, a master facilitator, mediator and Zen Roshi. The training combined leading insights from the fields of developmental psychology and Zen awareness together in an Integral approach has had a profound effect on the way I connect to the world around me and approach my work and life.
I’m currently studying a Mastery program with Suzanne Anderson, psychologist, author, executive coach and transformational facilitator having completed her 15-month in-depth integral leadership development program for women in December 2022. This deep work explores the powerful evolutionary capacity for women to live, love and lead with a whole new level of consciousness and leadership capacity.
My background as a professional ballet dancer, teacher and business owner plus being a mother of 3 sons and living in a foreign country all contribute to my strengths as a teacher, allowing me to help clients who are looking for a way to integrate their whole beings and awaken to their innate wisdom, courage and potential.
Find inspiration and beauty in a simpler way of being.

“The yoga retreat was very much what I had expected as I have practiced with Karen before. I’ve noticed that I am much more relaxed and more confident in my strength and abilities as far as my yoga practice goes. I felt so good taking all that time just for myself and my own mental and physical health and wellbeing. It felt like a gift to myself.
What I liked most about our retreat was the instructor and how much thought and care Karen put into making every moment and every participant count. The wonderful women who were part of the retreat – it felt like a warm cocoon of women power, kindness and support. And, the location, the delicious brunches and vegetarian dinners.
Karen is such a gifted instructor. Her voice is so calming and she makes everyone feel like they are doing enough regardless of their yoga or meditation experience. She has such a unique way about her and is one of the most compassionate people I have ever met. She shines with a light so bright it makes you light up too.”
Kara Forte
What I liked most about our retreat was time to pay attention to things one does not do in daily life, chat with like-minded people, and Karen, you have been the best teacher and host I could have ever wished for. I really appreciated our little chats and your way of sharing tips.”
Nicole Lenz

What I liked most about our retreat was the daily structure; confidence in Karen guiding and holding the group and sessions; opportunities for walks, talks and shared meals.
Karen knows her work, prepares thoughtfully and thoroughly allowing flexibility in process. Go with an open mind and heart. Have your own awareness of little self care practices to draw on when challenges arise. There is no need to hide nor over-share/connect with everyone.
Gift wrap THIS experience – it cannot be repeated, retain the qualities of it within.”

What is the Tuscany weather like in July?
July is the sunniest month. Days are usually hot with balmy evenings. The average daily maximum is 30 C and the average daily minimum is 18-20 C.
Do I Need to Take a Yoga Mat?
The yoga room is fully equipped with Manduka mats and yoga props (cushions, blankets, bolsters, blocks, straps). However, please bring your own yoga mat if you prefer.
Yoga and Mindful Movement practices are often advised to those dealing with pain or healing from injuries. However, please be sure to receive your doctor’s permission to begin any new physical activity. It is essential you tell me if you’re experiencing pain or recovering from any injuries, so I can help guide you through a safe practice.
Should I Eat or Drink Before I Practice?
Try not to eat anything heavy before you practice. It will make breathing and your movements that much easier on an empty stomach. Try to avoid drinking during practice.
Please bring your own water bottle.
