Navigating the ebb and flow of emotions.

I’m thinking of you all and hoping you and your loved ones are well.

A week ago I mentioned how you may be feeling a roller-coaster of emotions and energy states as we continue to live and adapt to COVID-19. That it may seem as if you have no control over how you feel from one day to the next.

I encouraged you to keep your self-care practices close and to acknowledge that there’s an ebb and flow to these emotions, nothing is static and to give them space and then let them go.

Remember this is a practice and there will be days when it’s easier than others. It can be helpful and reassuring to understand our emotional response and what to expect as we go through this pandemic, not only as an individual but as a community and society too.

I invite you to listen to Alé Duarte, who I first met in January, as he shares reflections on emotional responses in connection with Covid-19.

As a trauma and Somatic therapist, Alé has a wealth of experience offering support in areas of natural disasters and conflicts around the world. He has a wonderful way of working with children through Somatic Experiencing and offers training to professionals who work in the fields of psychology, education, body-oriented therapy and social entrepreneurs.
