Dispelling Myth 7 of 8: Yoga is boring

Dec 17, 2016 | Yoga for Beginners, Yoga Tips

(Did you miss Myth 6? If so, catch up here.)

Still doubtful about starting a yoga practice?

If you’ve never tried yoga before then it’s possible you’re thinking it’s about asking your body to adopt various uncomfortable poses for a certain length of time while remaining silent and calm.
How boring is that?

Trying turning this thought around and making yoga about YOU not the poses.

Yoga meets you right where you are, it’s as honest, real and present as it gets, helping you observe your body and mind in a completely new way. If you’re interested in becoming the best version of yourself, you need to know who you are. Yoga will take you there through breath, movement and stillness, revealing what inspires and drives you most.

You learn to listen and be patient. You begin to respond rather than react. Imagine breaking through the boundaries you set yourself on what you can/cannot do – quietening your monkey mind and lizard brain!
By being present and aware, each breath and pose will help you gain clarity, balance and perspective, steps that you can then take out into your daily life, impacting your relationships, decisions and actions. It is an ongoing journey, like life itself.
